Big Changes ...

So, growing up I've always visited a certain place a LOVED it. I have always wanted to live in this place and thought it would be such a great place to raise a family. Kameron and I loved visiting this place together and had often talked about moving there if the opportunity was given to us. Well, after Kameron passed away I started thinking about where I wanted Kason and I to live. I considered Thatcher but after a very specific prayer I realized Thatcher was not the place for us. Instead, I was guided towards the exact place I considered a great place to live and had always considered moving. I was a little taken back because I never thought I would actually end up there! But, at the same time I was excited about the idea of it.

The more I thought about it and the more I talked with friends about it - the more it felt right. I started looking at places online and I would get so excited about it. Then, I would get pushed into the cycle of doubt and fear and I would start to ask myself, "what are you thinking?! you can't move THERE!" But, thanks to a wonderful friend who refered me to the talk "Cast Not Away Therefore Your Confidence" by Jeffrey R. Holland, I realized that the doubt and the fear that I was feeling was coming from Satan. He knows the potential I have and he wants to do whatever he can to keep me from succeeding! So, I pushed him in a dark closet (I WISH!) and continued on with my planning. He pops his ugly little head out once in awhile and I push him back in - reminding myself that he is there to discourage me from being happy and prosperous.

SO ... after MUCH MUCH MUCH prayer, fasting, meditating, scripture study and temple attendance I am excited to announce that Kason and I are moving to ... (okay, like 99.89% sure about the move)

Like I said I am EXCITED! But, at the same time I am nervous ... I have never lived outside of Arizona (except for when I was in Kindergarten but, I don't know if that really counts). I am nervous about the SNOW! I don't know if I even know how to drive in snow! And I will admit that I am a little nervous about leaving family and friends here in Arizona but, at the same time ... friendships don't end just because someone moves to Utah! (right?!) And I am bummed they don't have Major League Baseball but, I can overlook that.

I am excited to have a fresh start, to start over - just me and Kason. I am excited to go where nobody knows my story and what has happened in the past couple months. I am excited to go to the store and not get "sympathy stares" from people. I am excited for some new scenery and some seasons! I am just excited about it! I feel like there are some great opportunities up there for me and Kason. I can never know if I like it if I don't give it a shot!

So, I am going up on Tuesday to find a place for me and Kason to live and assuming I don't get an awful feeling about the move while I'm there - we'll be moving in the next few weeks. I can't wait for this new chapter and I will keep all you avid readers up to date! :) Oh ... and you all will always have a place to stay in Utah now! (just don't mind the fact that it will probably be a couch or the floor!)

I know..stranger here again,..
I think you have the best advice, Heavenly Father. he will guide you!

I have been in Az. now for almost a year I spent my whole life in Utah.

It will be an interesting move weather wise.. but I think you will love it!

You don't say where in Utah but there is the best MINOR league baseball around, SLC Ogden and Orem have teams that we loved to watch!!
We loved Utah baseball! Really that is one thing we miss the most is our Utah Baseball teams.

We're going to miss you guys. However, having moved FROM Utah (and believe me, Sherrie would love for us to move back), I'm sure you'll enjoy it, including the snow. (As for me, just keep it off the roads....:) )
Where in Utah are you moving? If you don't know of a particular area, and you're looking for real estate listings, I used to work for a Multiple Listing Service that is best (and biggest) in the state of Utah. I also have family that would be willing to help you look for something, too. Just give us a holler.

That's awesome, Jami. I think it will be good, like you said, to get a fresh new start. Curtis grew up in Salt Lake and his dad still lives there. We've thought about moving there also, plus my sister just moved to Ogden, so that would be fun!I doubt it will ever happen, but I'm really excited for you and Kason!

see you soon chica!! Just let me know if there's anything I can do for you. And as a heads up, we have had a few cold days, but its supposed to be warmer weather next week. Just bring a sweater, unless you're a cold person like my mom, then bring a snow jacket (totally sarcastic talk here). Don'y worry about snow unless you'll live on a dead end street, because the county learned 2 winters ago to make a bigger budget for snow removal, and last winter they did really great. This spring and summer they spent a lot of the grants on repairing roads up here so they won't be so torn up when the plows go over then again. You chose a good year to come up here.

So so so proud of you!! And so so so excited for you!! Good for you!!!!!!!

Woo woo! I'm excited for you to come up here. I'm not gonna lie, though, sometimes the snow is really miserable. But other times, it's absolutely beautiful. And it is kind of fun and exciting to have the type of Christmas that you always see in movies and stuff. You'll adjust, though, and I'm sure you'll like it up here a lot. Although I miss Arizona, I really do like Utah.

Good for you Jami! I think a change in scenery is perfect for you and Kason. Somewhere where you can walk down the street and not be reminded of every single little memory that sometimes brings those sad feelings. I often think back to your blog post when you said you guys were moving to Sierra Vista. I remember you saying that you don't know what is ahead for your family, but you felt that there were going to be some exciting changes. I don't think that these past few months are what you had in mind, but Jami, there are still so many exciting changes in store for you! I think this move is one of them. I'm sure excited for you!

My mother-in-law shared the news with us on Sunday that this is what you'd decided to do. We are all SO EXCITED for you both! I know it is scary...but it will so be worth it after you get adjusted! You do deserve a fresh start, that is for sure! You're in our prayers, girl. Hang in there and remember..."one step at a time".

Oh Jami! You SO deserve this! I'm way excited for you {and jealous that you'll live somewhere with actual seasons!}. I agree with Erin that it will be so nice for you to not have so many memories pop up at you from every corner, and such a relief for you and Kason to get away from AZ for a while and start fresh. I'm happy for you, and think this is exactly what you guys need. Love you!

You don't know me, but I came across your blog because one of your friends had something about it posted on their adoption page a month or so ago. Does that make it less creepy? ;) I'm originally from the south where there are NO seasons, and I've LOVED Utah! I'm in Cache County- very pretty here!

A fresh start is a great idea!! Big moves are always scary but it really helps when the spirit confirms that it's the right thing to do. Hope all goes smoothly with the move and settling in.
