We had a great birthday for Kason. It was a LUAU! We served rice, kalua pig, teriyaki chicken, macaroni salad, veggie tray and a fruit salad. It was SO yummy!! We had a good turn out too. I'm glad so many people were able to come.
Us and my mom got him the wagon and my dad got him the sandbox. He got a good stash of toys! We are so blessed to have our little boy in our lives. I don't know what we ever did with ourselves before we had him!! He is so much fun and we love him so much!!
Happy (belated) Birthday, Kason!

I know I'm late for Valentine's Day but Kason has been sick so, I'm just getting around to doing it. Who knows ... maybe I'll even get some pictures up of Kason's birthday before it gets too much later!!

I am not a huge fan of Valentine's Day but, it is better since I have my sweetheart to enjoy it with.
Kameron got me this for Valentine's Day.

Photobucket

I love it. I had really been wanting a Willow Tree Figurine for a long time so, I was super happy when he suprised me with it.
And ... I completely forgot it was Valentine's Day. Horrible huh? So, I asked Kameron what he wanted and he said, "Lunch at McDonalds" so, that's where we went. Romantic huh?!

And ... I saw this on Candace's blog and thought it would be fun to do (maybe it will make up for me completely forgetting Valentine's Day!)

I'M DONE!

twilight series
I'm sure Kameron is super glad about this. He finally gets his wife back after 3 days.
But, I'm totally bummed.
Now I have to sit and wonder until AUGUST.
But, I just finished Eclipse this morning.
I still can't believe I read 3 books in pretty much 3 days.

Let me just say:

They were AMAZING.
I loved each of them.

I have so many thoughts in my little brain - it's killing me.
I'm dying to talk to someone about these books!
eclipse....

Here's a few things:
[*SPOILER*]
* I'm kind of afraid that Jacob is going to attack Edward in the 4th book. He had so much RAGE at the end of the book.

* I am annoyed at Bella for her realizing that she loved Jacob. UGH. I'm not a huge fan of Jacob. There's something about him that drives me crazy. Maybe it's the fact that he is so reckless with Bella's life? Or maybe that he is selfish and wants Bella to be happy but, only if it's with him? Edward just wants Bella to be happy ... period.

* I was annoyed at Bella the whole book anyways. She's so ungrateful towards Edward. He does SO much for her. The whole Cullen's family does and she's so whiney about it all.

* I am worried that Bella and Edward will end up not getting married. Even though Bella gets on my nerves, she has to marry Edward. He loves her too much for it to not happen. I don't want to see him hurt again (man, I sound pathetic huh?)

* Edward ... ahhh. Edward. He is so ... perfect. I love how dreamy Stephanie Meyer makes him. I love how much he loves Bella. Unconditionally.
It's hard to explain my feelings about him. Kameron thinks I'm in love with Edward. Me? Never!

* There is so much I'm thinking about. I'm sure I will post more about the books as I dissect them a little more.
I would love to hear people's thoughts.

I am very much anticipating the release of Breaking Dawn in August.
I'm assuming it will be the close of the series. With Edward and Bella's wedding, her transformation to a vampire (and everything that comes along with it, saying goodbye to her soul, family ... everything), and how she handles it.

I guess only time will tell. And I'm sure Stephanie Meyer will throw in some unexpected turns of events.

I'm super excited!!!

The tale of 2 Dixie's

First of all, we have a dog named Dixie. She's kind of obnoxious and barks and anything and everything.

(this is Dixie as a puppy, so cute huh?)

Secondly, I really think Dixie is a name for a dog. Unless, you were born before like 1970. Then it's okay.

So, we just got some new neighbors. It's a family of three, mom, dad and a little girl. (as a side note: they're not very friendly. I try to smile or say hi and they look at me like I've just given them a death look. But, that doesn't really matter when it comes to this story.) Anyways, they were outside one day and our dog, Dixie, was barking at them. So, Kameron goes out back to get her to be quite ...

"Shut up, Dixie!"
"Get over here now Dixie!"

Then, he listens to these new neighbors.

The dad says, "Come on Dixie, let's go!"

Kameron's thinking ... 'why the heck is that guy talking to my dog?'

Then, the neighbor dad said, "Make sure you pick up all your toys Dixie and come inside."

WHAT?!?!
They named their 4 or 5 year old daughter DIXIE?
Don't you think Dixie is a name better suited for a dog rather than a little girl?

They just brought home a new puppy today ... I wonder what they'll name it?

I have three words ...

Photobucket

OH MY GOSH!!

I read this book yesterday (ya, in one day thats really rare for me & my house is suffering) and I LOVED it.

I was a little skeptical at first when I hear what they were about but, once I got past the first few chapters ... I couldn't put it down!

Now, all I can think about is Edward and Bella, the Cullens and worst of all ... WHAT HAPPENS IN 'NEW MOON'.

*sigh*

I must get a copy of New Moon. and if you haven't read them, I highly recommend them.

I'll post about Kason' birthday and more later but, for now I've got to find out what happens to Bella.

Thomas S. Monson
is the new president of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
it was announced today at a news conference in the Church Office Building. President Monson, 80, succeeds President Gordon B. Hinckley, who died 27 January.

The new world leader of the Church has called to serve with him in the First Presidency, the top governing body of the 13-million-member faith,
Photobucket
President Henry B. Eyring (74)
first counselor
Photobucket
and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf (67)
second counselor.

Photobucket
President Boyd K. Packer (83)
is the new president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

I was thinking about this on Sunday as I was hoping to bear my testimony in sacramen, but an obnoxious almost-one-year-old prevented it ...

This church is the true gospel upon this earth. It doesn't matter who is leading it. President Monson is going to be an amazing Prophet for this church. I am so excited to see what this presidency does for us.
President Hinckley was such an amazing example to me and taught me so much during his time as Prophet & I am grateful for that.
But, most importantly, I am grateful that I know that my family belongs to the true church upon this earth. I sustain the new presidency of the church and look forward to their service.

Mommy's Little Helper

Last week Kason and I went to Home Depot and picked out some flowers to plant in the pots in front of our house. When we got home he decided to help ...

He collected rocks:
Photobucket

Cleared out all the leaves:

And, even taste tested the soil:
Photobucket

He was such a huge help!!

You may think I'm a horrible mom for letting my child eat leaves and dirt but, in the book "Glimpses: Into the heart of Majorie Pay Hinckley" She says:

"Give [your children] time to explore & learn about the feel of grass and the wiggliness of worms."

So, I was just heeding Sister Hinckley's advice.
And he loved every minute of it.

Couch Potato ...

Kason likes to be completely comfortable when he watches tv.

He enjoys watching "Little Einstein's" & "The Wiggles" on Disney Channel and he really likes his Baby Einstein DVDs.

Here's our little comfort-bug-couch-potato:
(okay, I'm having issues with the slide show ... it's in the post above. sorry. how annoying)
