A Tribute ...

to the life of an amazing man.

Photobucket

97 years old.
What a wonderful example he was to all of us.
He was so full of life and had so much faith.

When I think of President Hinckley I think of temples.
He was so determined to get so many people to the temple and get work for the dead accomplished.

Each time I went to conference while he was the Prophet, as he walked into the conference center the audience would go silent. He would then wave at the audience with his cane. I hope I have that much energy in me when I'm in my 90's.

He traveled so many places and was respected by everyone.
I am truly going to miss him. He has been the prophet for the majority of my life. I know President Monson will be a wonderful Prophet. It's just hard to see him pass. I find peace in knowing that he is with his wonderful wife, Marjorie Pay.

Times like this always make me think and it gives me comfort to know what lies ahead for each of us as we leave this life. I can't imagine living my life without knowing that it is eternal. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that we are in this life for a purpose. I am grateful to know that as we each pass we will be united in heaven. We will live eternally with our families.

I will forever love and miss President Gordon B. Hinckley.

You may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. (So, you must have a blog to participate.) I can't wait to see who I will be giving to!!
To join, just cut and paste this on your blog and comment away. - Keeping in mind that if you want to get something from me, you have to give. Does that deter your interest? I hope not! - Thanks to Kelly for the fun idea!

Things I love about my new house

#1. Kason's Room
Photobucket
Kason's room turned out really cute. I especially like that his closet is huge and I can put all his toys in there instead of having them in the living room. That is SO nice!

#2. Closed Doors

This may not seem like a huge deal to most of you but, at our other house, we didn't have doors. Just curtains. Kason's naps have a whole new meaning. He doesn't get woken up at every little sound. I can carry on a normal volume conversation without worrying about waking him up. It's wonderful. We have 5 doors and it's so nice.

#3. DISHWASHER
Photobucket
I've never had a dishwasher in my life. (Well, I have but I was like 7 so, I really didn't care) So, this is a wonderful treat for me! You may think I'm crazy but, I enjoy doing dishes now!! It's not a chore anymore!!

#4. Our Wood Floors
Photobucket

I love having wood floors. It feels so much cleaner.

#5. Our Front Yard
Photobucket

I know it doesn't look like much now but, I can't wait until spring and summer when the grass is green and I can plant some flowers and we can all play outside on the grass. I am really excited about having a yard for our little Kason to have fun on.
I love my new house. It feels much more like a home for our little family.

twitter

Check out my twitter updates to the right. it's sort of like a live look into the Haban house. It's fun. Oh, you can add it to your blog, too. Just go to www.twitter.com

I love this kid!!

Kason makes me so happy.
He makes being a mom totally worth it.

HAPPY

Kason loves Saturday's and Sunday's because his daddy is home.
So, a couple weekends ago, I went to put Kason down for his nap and he cried for a bit and then we heard ... "DAD?!"
It was as if he was making sure that dad was okay with this whole nap thing. Either that, or he wanted Kameron to come rescue him.

He is our pride & joy.

Many more Kason posts to come.
The pride & joy just woke up from his nap.
By the way, I have a crazy non-sleeper kid. A few weeks ago he decided that he only wanted to take one nap a day! He wasn't even 11 months old. I wonder how old he'll be when he's ready to kick the naps for good. YIKES!

Haban's 2007

What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Had a BABY!

Did anyone close to you give birth?
I did!! And ... Alicia, Candace, My cousin Emily ... And lots of other people!

Did anyone close to you die?
Nope

What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Maybe a little bit more money? That sure would be nice.

What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
February 11th. Our son Kason was born then!

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Having a baby, being a pretty good mom (atleast I try real hard!)

What was your biggest failure?
Not being as good of a person as I should be. Not being the best wife and mom. There always seems to be room for improvement.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Have our baby!! (although I will admit I was also, really, really, really nervous!!)

What song will always remind you of 2007?
There are way too many!! I can't pick just one!

Compared to this time last year, are you: much happier, richer, nicer?
Happier? YES! Definately! I love my life!
Richer? Um, ya. Kameron's job pay's more than the job he had last year but, we also are paying for REAL insurance so that takes a good chunk out of his check. But, we still survive and yes we are making more than last year. I guess that's what the question is asking.
Nicer? Um, maybe. I would hope I am nicer!

What do you wish you'd done more of?
Gone to the temple, kept our house clean, spent quality time with the family

What do you wish you'd done less of?
Complaining about things that can't be controlled. Watch TV. Spent money (okay, maybe not but, maybe I SHOULD have spend less!)

Did you fall in love in 2007?
Of course! I fall in love with Kameron more and more each day. Not to mention falling in love with our little Kasonito!

What was your favorite TV program?
Grey's Anatomy!!!

What was the best book you read this year? Um, What to expect the first year. I don't make as much time as should for reading. Oh! I did read the last Harry Potter ... that was my favorite!

What was your greatest musical discovery?
I miss singing in a good choir. Our ward choir is ok, it's just not 'A Capella'.

What did you want and get?
A wonderful, cute, happy, smart baby boy. A nicer house (well technically that's 2008 but, whatever). More love for my husband. Good health. The list could go on and on.

What were your favorite films of this year?
"Harry Potter 5"

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Hmm ... I was being a mom. I probably didn't do anything exciting. I turned 22.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Honestly, nothing. This past year was wonderful! I am so blessed!

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
C-O-M-F-O-R-T!!!!

What kept you sane? Kameron

Who did you miss?
Family, Mekahla, Alicia, Karen

Who was the best new person (people) you met?
Mrs. Tiana Batty!!

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
Oh wow. Parenting is HARD. Patience is one of the greatest things you can develop. Everyday is a new beginning and should be lived better than the day before. RESPECT is SO important!

What are you most excited for in 2008?
Kason's 1st birthday. Maybe another pregnancy. (I said MAYBE). Living in a comfortable home. I'm just excited for this year! It's gonna be a good one!!

What are you least excited for in 2008?
My dad moving to Mexico.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 2008!!
