100th post update

Wow - what a great thing to have to write on my 100th post ... Well, here goes.

Yesterday, Kameron went to his surgeon for a follow-up appointment. When he got there, both Dr. Carter and our PCP (Dr. Montierth) were there. As you know, when they removed Kameron's gall bladder they did a biopsy on his liver. We originally thought everything came back okay on it. After lots more tests, we're learning different ...

Kameron's liver is in the early stages of liver failure. Their main concern right now, is his weight loss. When he left the hospital (2 Saturdays ago) he weighed 134. Yesterday, he only weighed 119. So, they have given him until tomorrow (Thursday) to gain atleast 1 or 2 pounds. If he hasn't gained any weight when he goes in, they will have to admit him to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale for more testing and treatment. He would probably be there for 1-2 months. If he recieves the treatment but his liver rejects it ... they are giving him 4-6 months to live.

Yesterday, I was a wreck. Today, I am doing much better. After praying, reading scriptures and patriarchal blessings last night, and fasting today. I am able to feel a lot more optimistic about everything. I also know that I need to positive because if something were to happen & I had been negative this whole time, I would regret it more than anything. So, know that we're doing okay. Just trying to spend time together and prepare ourselves for what the next few months hold for our family.

The hardest part is the uncertainty of everything. But, I know that if we put our lives in the Lord's hands, everything will be okay. This is definately a faith strengthening trial. I appreciate your prayers for our family and will try to keep you updated if I have time.

We love you all!!

Your family will be in our prayers. Kameron called Curtis last night and told him everything. Curtis really appriciated it. He called my parents in Mesa and asked them to put Kameron's name in the temple.

Hey kiddo- it's your cousin Steve L. Just wanted you to know that you are in thoughts and prayers and hearts of my wife and I, as well as the small but faithful cluster of Lambson/Young/Southerland relatives out here in the Midwest. We love you and Kameron and Kason and are all for you.

Jami, my heart goes out to you and your family! You are facing this difficult trial with faith and optimism, which is so inspiring. A few questions, if you don't mind: What would be making him lose weight that has to do with his liver? What kind of treatment would he get at the Mayo Clinic? Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Oh my, Jami. I can't believe how you must be feeling. It's times like these that make me especially grateful for the knowledge the restored Gospel provides. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please don't hesitate to let any of us old EA-ers know if we can help with ANYTHING.

Jami - I have thought of you all day. We are fasting and praying for you guys. I truly believe that you have the right attitude even though your heart is being ripped out of your chest right now. In the end, the lord does know what is best. Even if it seems terribly cruel and unfair. Stay strong. Know that so many prayers are being said in your families behalf. Love, Rachel French

Hey guys...

We sat down everyone last night and told them your situation. We offered a special prayer on your behalf. Brandon went to the temple this morning and we asked him to offer a prayer for you guys while there as well. We hope and pray for things to turn out for all of you. We will try to get word to Bryan as well so he can pray for you guys too.

I know we've never even met, but Steven is part of your family, so that makes US family, too! I am truly inspried by your words and your being so positive and for sharing this experience with all of us. You are so young, with a young family, and just know that the Lord knows all and has a plan for you and your family. Keep reminding yourself of that. He DOES love you, and he is watching over you, even when you think otherwise. You've got to keep being positive for your young one, and for the hubby as well...what a strong woman you are! You are in your hearts, and in your prayers!

I have gotten quite a few emails from several different people about what you and Kameron are going through. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. There are so many people who are pulling for you guys. I've gotten three different emails from Kameron's former mission campanions, so I know there are a lot of prayers going up on your behalf.
