California Part IV: Sunday

Sunday was our last day in Northern California and the last day with all the family. We were leaving early that afternoon so we wanted to spend most of the morning with the family. Everyone got a late start though so, we didn't get to spend as much time with them as we would have liked. But, it was still good to see everyone and get to say our goodbyes.

We mostly just hung around the house and some people went swimming. I knew we wouldn't have enough time to go swimming so Kason missed out - but, he got to put his feet in with Auntie Anita.

I love this picture, Kason is checking Miss Laci out ... he's not too sure about her!! haha

Again, I wish I had taken more pictures. But, I LOVED getting to know all of Kameron's family!
After we had everything packed up and said goodbye to everyone, we headed to San Diego!!!

California Part III: Family BBQ

Saturday night we went to Kameron's Aunt & Uncle's house for a YUMMY BBQ. They had all sorts of yummy food! Kason snatched some ribs off of Kameron's plate and LOVED them. He ate them down to the bone!

This was a fun night for me because I hadn't met most of his family. So, I got to meet all of his aunts and alot of his cousins. It was really fun! Hawaiians can get CRAZY! ;)

California Part II: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

On Saturday we went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom with the Siruno's (Dustin, Elizabeth & kiddos). It was LOTS of fun!! This park has a few big rollercoasters but, it also has TONS of stuff for the kids! They have animals, and shows and then little rides for the kids. It was a FUN day and we got lucky with PERFECT weather!! It was probably in the mid to upper 70s all day! It was beautiful! Us from AZ thought it was perfect, but everyone else kept complaining that it was hot! It made me laugh!

Photobucket

Six Flags has all the Looney Toon characters but, Sylvester was the only one we got a picture with. The whales name is Shouka. Kason loved them!!!

Kameron REALLY wanted to ride an elephant with Kason. While we were waiting for them to start the rides we got to see them give the elephant a bath. (stinky!) and then Kameron and Kason hopped on board. While they were riding Kason was SO excited the whole time. He kept saying, "Go faster, Horton! Go! Go!" (The elephants name wasn't really Horton. He just thinks all elephants are named that). He has been talking about riding the elephant ever since! He really loved it!

We got to watch the Dolphin and Killer Whale show. It was awesome. I was amazed that they could teach the animals to do all their tricks! Kason has been talking about this since then, too. He'll talk about the dolphins and the whales splashing in the water and he gets so excited. I think this was one of his favorite things we did!

Waiting for the show to start:

Then we saw the animals they have. It was just like a mini zoo; cougars, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants. It was awesome!! And that part of the park wasn't busy AT ALL! That made it really nice!!

This picture makes me laugh - I don't know HOW that giraffe is comfortable sleeping like that! And the other one being a pillow!

Photobucket

We rode LOTS of rides. Kason absolutely LOVED them! He would get into them, put his hands in the air and scream. Can't wait until he's old enough to take on the big rollaercoasters!!

They also had Thomas Town there. Kason was in HEAVEN! He couldn't believe there was really a Thomas the Train there! He was so excited to actually ride him!!!

This picture cracks me up, he looks SO thrilled to be there.

It was really fun day and Kason did AWESOME. I thought we would have lots of meltdowns but, we didn't have any! About 4:00 he crashed in his stroller and then slept on the way home. He loved it and had such a fun day! So did we (even though my back got BURNED. It looked bad, but it's gone now and it's a tan so, it was worth it!).

California Part I: San Francisco

Photobucket

We left for California last Thursday and drove ALL day to Rosamond, CA to stay with my cousin Kristin and her family. I hadn't seen her for years and I had never met her husband or girls so, it was fun to see her and catch up. Kason had so much fun playing with his cousins, he didn't want to go to bed or leave in the morning!!

Friday morning we left for San Francisco! It was such a beautiful drive!! There were grape vineyards everywhere and the hillsides were so green. I loved it!

I had never been to San Francisco so I was excited to tour it. I drove most of the way up there but as soon as we got outside of the city, I had Kameron drive and I am GLAD I did. Driving in San Francisco was INSANE! I didn't think we were going to make it out of there alive!!! Kameron did AWESOME navigating our way through the city. People drive like maniacs there. I also had my first experience with toll roads! We had to pay $4 stinkin' dollars to cross a bridge - I made sure I really enjoyed my trip over the bridge since it cost us so much!

My first ever toll bridge!

Photobucket

Once we found a parking garage by Pier 39 we waited for Kameron's cousin and his family to get there. While we were waiting for them we took a few pictures of Alcatraz. We didn't take the time to do the tour but, it was pretty crazy to see it out there in the middle of the bay!

When Dustin & Elizabeth (& kids) got there we checked out the Pier 39 Sea Lions. Kason loved them but, they sure did stink!! We also ate some of the yummiest doughnuts I have ever had - and I don't even like doughnuts!!!!

I think it would be so neat to live right on the bay and have such a beautiful view. Too bad the houses are like 1/2 million each!
I love this though!

We walked past Fisherman's Wharf, but didn't stop. It's not really my thing to see a bunch of dead fish lying around.

Photobucket

We took a break for Dustin to get some In-n-Out and let the kids run around for awhile. Kason sat on these flowers and then afterwards saw that he had crushed them so he told the flowers sorry and gave them a kiss. Silly boy!

Photobucket

We went to Ghirardelli Square and got some yummy chocolate (thanks Dustin & Elizabeth!!). The hill up to the square was ridiculous! It wouldn't have been too bad if we hadn't all be pushing strollers!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Then, we headed home. We were going to do Lombard street but, I did NOT want to deal with the traffic again and if we waited much longer we would hit major traffic on the way home. So, we just headed back to Dustin & Elizabeth's. These are a few pictures on our way out of town.

It was a fun day! The weather was perfect and I loved getting to see all of the San Francisco touristy stuff!!
