The Curse of Check #1029 and register #22 ...

So, this afternoon I go to Wal-mart ... let me outline my trip for you.

3:55 - Leave house
4:00 - Get to Wal-mart, return some items and do shopping
4:30 - Finish shopping, go to check out. I chose register #26 but, the cashier at #22 waved at me & said he could help me, and he had no line so, I went.
4:35 - Debit machine doesn't work
4:36 - I write a check.
4:37 - Machine for reading checks doesn't work.
4:38 - Cashier calls CSM
4:40 - CSM finally shows up, tries to fix everything still doesn't work.
4:45 - Cashier says, "Alright, we'll just go to another register and finish
everything up. I gave you your check right?"

I say, "Nope. I gave it to you and that's the last I've seen it."
4:46 - The search for the check begins. Now, during the next HOUR several managers, CSM's and other Walmart employees join in the search for my missing check #1029. Several solutions were offered:

SOLUTION 1
"You could just leave and we could keep and eye our for it and
call
you if it turns up." ...
Um, no thanks I don't think I'm really
comfortable with that! I don't want one of my checks floating around
Walmart with all of my information on it. Who knows who's hands it
could end up in.
SOLUTION 2
"Well, can't you just put a stop on it?" ...
And be charged a $25 fee for a stopped check? No thank you.
SOLUTION 3
"Just forget about it." ...
Again, no thank you. I am not going to wonder what happened to my check AND pay twice for the same items.
Back to the search ...
These people seriously searched EVERYWHERE! The garbage, behind the soda machine, inside the drawer, inside the scanner, under the candy display ... everywhere. No check #1029. At one point a manager says, "Okay, well let me see where we need to go from here."

5:30 - They decide to check the film footage from register #22.
5:45 - They call us (me, Kason, and the cashier) into the security office to watch the film.
5:46 - We watch the film and try to figure out where the dreaded check #1029 is!
5:48 - A "support manager" walks in a says, "I FOUND IT! It was in the VERY BOTTOM of the trash of register #22"
5:49 - Apologies are given by managers
5:50 - I finally am able to pay AND complete my transaction
5:51 - I quickly leave the store.

TWO HOURS!!! I could not believe it. Apparently when the first CSM came to help and try to fix the machine he accidentally grabbed my check and crumbled it up with some other scraps of paper and threw it in the garbage.

Thankfully Kason was a perfect baby through all of this and just sat there watching everyone. I just couldn't believe it was happening to me though. The stupid thing is, apparently no one at Walmart communicates (suprise, suprise) and each time a new manger or CSM would walk by they had NO idea what was going on! It's like, "Come on people, use those walkie talkies!"

I hate Walmart. I pray we get a Target. This would never happen at Target ... would it?

May God Bless the families of fallen soldiers, the families of those lost on 9/11 and each and every family that experienced 9/11/01. Give them peace and give them hope to get through each day. And as we remember September 11th today, may each of us have a pray in our hearts for this country and for those who are suffering today.

FOOTBALL'S HERE!!!

This is our life for the next several months. College football all day Saturday. EAC games Saturday night. And Monday Night Football.

I think it's going to be a good football season!

We took Kason to the EAC game on Saturday. He had a blast!! He just crawled everywhere and loved watching the game (so his daddy thinks! ha ha!) He even got a picture with the Student Body President (his uncle) and Gila Hank!!

Handsome ...

These are just because I love my son so much and I'm so proud of him!! He is 7 months tomorrow ... I cannot believe where the time has gone.

Here's some accomplishments of our boy:
Crawls... EVERYWHERE!
Pulls himself up (and gets back down!)
Has a tooth cutting through on the bottom (finally!) and another getting ready!
Eats solids like a pro and is starting to learn how to self feed ... he especially loves bananas, apples, squash, corn & gerber fruit puffs!
Sits perfectly by himself
Talks ALL the time! (mama, dada, baba) so cute!
Takes a few steps while holding on to furniture

Love this kid!!

Comfort Bug

Kason is such a comfort bug!! He does what it takes to be comfy and then he's totally relaxed. One morning Kameron went in to check on him and he found him sleeping like this ...

And when we were at Home Depot a little while back, he just totally relaxed in the cart. One leg was hanging down, just swingin', and he was using the diaper bag as his pillow ...

And ... during story time before bed a couple nights ago ... he decided he couldn't wait to be put in his crib. Mom was just too comfy!!

Tick Tock

We made these clocks a few weeks ago in enrichment. I've very proud of it!! I took forever and I finally put in on our wall and it looks really good!!

Only in Thatcher

So, the other day all the dogs in the neighborhood are all going crazy over something. I wonder what all the commotion was so I looked outside and this is what I see!!

Our neighbors have a couple sheep and lately they have been getting out alot and this one decided to come trim our weeds ... I should have put him in the backyard!!

It's Raining ... It's Pouring

A few weeks ago we had a HUGE monsoon storm. It was only raining for maybe 20 minutes when I took these pictures and it kept raining for another 30 minutes after!!! We had a lake in our front yard!!!

Sunday Morning Notions

I have lots of things I've been thinking about lately. They are definately of no importance...but here's what's on my mind.

IKEA
I seriously love this place. I have an ongoing wish list from that place. When we have our own house, I want it to be an "IKEA House"
I LOVE this bed ...

with this bedding!

Here's my future dresser ...

Now, I LOVE IKEA's kid's line. When Kason is out of his crib I wanna do his room with this stuff:

And ... some extras :o)

Someday right?? The nice thing is that IKEA is SO cheap!! I LOVE IT!!
I can't wait to have our own house. Not only so I can paint and decorate without any limitations but, it will just be so nice to not have to waste over $4000.00 a year in rent. There's a house down the road that they have totally gutted and are remodeling it. We hope it's not too expensive because we would love to buy it and we're hoping they're done around April/May next year since that is when we want to buy. We shall see!

Plus, I want a DISHWASHER. I don't mind doing the dishes because it keeps my kitchen clean but, it would be awesome to have a dishwasher. Life would be so much easier. *sigh* someday.

(I dunno who's dog this is but this picture is hilarious!)
And, I want to have a nice yard where Kason can play and we can spend time outside. Our yard here is ridiculous. I hate it.
Kason has been a stinker lately. The past couple days he has just been so cranky. I have hardly gotten anything done because after 5 minutes of being alone and happy he wants to be held all the time. Hopefully today will be better.

I know that when I became a mom I would be giving up some things. But sometimes, I just wish Kason understood the concept of sleeping in on the weekends. I miss sleeping in until 8-9 on Saturday and Sunday. Atleast today he didn't wake up until 6:15! :o) I guess it does help me get more done during the day but, I do miss some of my sleep.
We are re-doing our tv stand. This is my inspiration:

It's from Pottery Barn and it's $800!! So, I decided to just make ours look like it. And it won't even cost us $100. I will share my finished product when I finish.
Oh, something else that's been bothering me ... my newspapers!! GRRR. I am supposed to get an AZ Republic Tuesday-Sunday and I get 2 papers on Sunday for the coupons. Well, apparently we got a new delivery guy in our area because we've been missing papers a ton lately. His first week delivering I got zero papers. I called and they said I would definately get my Sunday papers. Well, Sunday came around ... I got 1 paper. I PAY FOR TWO because it's nice to have double coupons when there's a really good deal. So, this past week I got a paper everyday but, only ONE today. Today was the third time I have called to complain. Apparently they're going to credit my account for my missing papers and hopefully I will get a Sunday paper delivered tomorrow. What a mess. I'm ready to cancel my subcription and just go buy a couple papers from the machine every Sunday. *grumble*

We have been getting a lot of rain lately. Well, yesterday anyways. It flooded our yard and the streets. It was so nice. Plus it really cooled things down. Our house has been cold!!! But, I love the rain so I won't complain.

That's all that's on my mind. I'm glad today is Sunday. Sunday's are always relaxing. I love just spending time with my family and having a big fulfilling meal at the end of the day. I love Sunday.

Happy Sunday!

My Man

For the sake of a boredom buster ...
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My Man...
1. Who is your man? Kameron Neil Haban
2. How long have you been together? 3 years & 7 months
3. Dating/Engaged/Married? Dated for 2 1/2 months, engaged for 3 months and married for just over 3 years.
4. How old is your man? 27
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
You or your man?
1. Who eats more? Um, that's toss up. I can eat a ton if it's something I love ... but then so can he.
2. Who said "I love you" first? Hmmm...I don't remember! I do remember when it happened though. It may have been a mutual thing.
3. Who weighs more? He does ... barely. ;o)
4. Who sings better? I would say I do. He would say he does. How about I leave it at - we both sing well :o)
5. Who's Older? Kameron is by 4 years & 10 months
6. Who's smarter? Kameron probably. He seriously knows something about everything! I don't know how he does it!
7. Who's temper is worse? Probably his. I can get really bad too though.
8. Who does the laundry? I do most of it. Then Kameron usually folds most of it if not all of it.
9. Who does the dishes? We both do. I wash and he rinses.
10. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you're standing at the foot of the bed, I do.
11. Who's feet are bigger? His
12. Who's hair is longer? Mine
13. Who's better with the computer? Probably me. I like to tinker around with things until I figure it out.
14. Who mows the lawn? We have rocks and dirt for our landscape but - if we had a lawn he would probably do it. But, for now we both do the yard work.
15. Who pays the bills? I do. He always knows what going on with our money though.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
16. Who cooks dinner? Honestly, Kameron cooks more than I do. I hate to cook. Kameron loves to cook. So, I let him. I got so lucky. Don't get me wrong - I do cook occasionally it's just not something I enjoy doing.
17. Who drives when you are together? Usually him.
18. Who pays when you go out to dinner? It depends on who is holding Kason. It doesn't really matter though because it all comes from the same account.
19. Who's the most stubborn? Me definately.
20. Who is the first one to admit when they're wrong? Um, we're pretty equal on this. But, I hate doing it. So I guess it's him a lot of the time.
21. Who's parents do you see more? It's actually pretty equal. My dad is able to fly down from colorado a lot and we live almost equal distances between my mom and his parents.
22. Who named your dog? Kameron named all our dogs, he's really good at that.
23. Who kissed who first? Well, Kameron tried kissing me on our first date but, I didn't let him. Then, after 2 weeks of dating (how mean am I?!) I think I kissed him while watching Lord of the Rings (romantic huh?)
24. Who asked who out? I think he did. It wasn't really a "You wanna go out?" It was more just a thing where we were friends first and then we held hands (*gasp*) and it went on and on. So, I guess it was just assumed that I would go with him.
25. What did you do? We went to Ben Lewis' pond with a group of people, ate foil dinners, and watched a movie on the bails of hay ... it was some weird movie like "I married an Axe Murderer" I think.
26. Who's more sensitive? definately me!
27. Who's taller? Kameron
28. Who has more friends? I have kept in touch with a lot more friends then he has. And now we have a lot of mutual friends. But, if it's over our lifespan ... Kameron definately has more friends.
29. Who has more siblings? We are the same! We both have 2 brothers.
30. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Um, I do. We try to be pretty equal but, Kameron lets me get away with a lot of the things I want to do. But, we also make most of our decisions together - he just tends to sacrifice and take my side.

After filling this out - I realize how truely blessed I am to have such a wonderful husband. He is so helpful and understanding. He is willing to sacrafice anything if it makes me happy. His dad is such a great role model and I'm glad he looks up to him. I am blessed to have such an amazing father for my children. They will always have somebody who is patient and loving towards them & that they have to look up to.
