One of the great things about living in a town with a military base is the strong sense of pride for our country, the freedom we enjoy and especially the servicemen that make our freedom possible.

The other day Kason and I were at the Post Office and there were two gentlemen in front of us. One of them was obviously a soldier, with his hair cut and his manuerisms. The other one ended up being the father of a soldier who was serving in Iraq as a scouter.

I listened to them talk about his son; this was his second tour in Iraq and he had been serving our country for 6 years. His tour would most likely be brought home early only to be prepped again and sent back out to Kuwait or some other country.

I held my little boy in my arms and tears came to my eyes. I wanted to applaud this father who has sent his son to Iraq, not once but two times, to fight for our country. I wanted to thank him for allowing his son to defend our freedom. I felt like he deserved the world.

How blessed are we to have people risk their lives everyday so that we can enjoy our freedom?
I can lead a normal life and not have every aspect of my life controlled. And we owe it all to the service men and women of our country.

I am grateful for the country that I live in. And I am grateful for those who are so willing to protect this great country. And I am grateful for those who have sacrified their lives so that I can live mine.

So, to all those serving in the Armed Forces,
Thank You.
I don't think we can say it enough. Your service means the world to me.

Dear Readers,

It's me, Kason.

Photobucket

Things around here have been busy! I have to drink this stuff:

Photobucket

It doesn't taste bad at all! Plus, it will help get rid of the ear infection I have.
I have been really interested in bugs lately and I am trying to talk mom and dad into letting me get an ant farm.

Dad is doing good at his new job. I miss him all day though. He is working for this company:

He works in the finance department. He really likes it and likes the people he works with. Pretty soon, we're going to buy him a fish to put on his desk.

Mom loves being home with me (I think). She was working for a couple weeks but, she said she missed me too bad so, she quit and now she is home with me all day. We play together and watch movies. We also like going to Target and getting popcorn and an Icee.

Well, that's all that's new with us!

Until next time, Kason H.

Our day of LOVE ...

Okay, honestly ... I'm not a huge fan of Valentine's Day.
Never have been. But, we still celebrated ... as best we could with a sick little boy.

Friday night we went out together to Safeway (romantic huh?) and then we went to Little Ceasers and got their $5 large pizza and some crazy bread, came home, watched tv, ate and took care of our sicky.

Saturday, Kameron worked in the morning and then during the afternoon I was getting stuff ready for Kason's party.

I did take time to make Kam a little gift ...

Kam's LOVE coupons!

And he bought me a necklace.
But, that's it. That's us - nothing over-the-top romantic.
We're like that, ya know?

*GOOFY!*

And ... our poor boy got a 104 fever. He was miserable. Thursday night he started coughing a ton and I could tell he just wasn't feeling good. In the middle of the night he woke up so I went in to check on him and he was burning up, when I checked his temp it was 103.9! I couldn't believe it!! I was grateful that Kameron and my father-in-law could give him a blessing!! Friday he did pretty good all day but, then come Saturday, he was the worse I'd seen him. He had been throwing up all morning and couldn't keep anything down, including his medicine so, he was running high fevers all day. Saturday evening we had his party and the poor thing didn't get to enjoy any of it. In fact, in the middle of opening presents, he threw up all over me and the floor - then he fell asleep! When he woke up we had his cake and then he went back to sleep. Last night his fever FINALLY broke and this morning when I got back from Sacrament Meeting I could just tell he was feeling SO much better! He's still got a cough and runny nose but, atleast he is done with the fevers.

Anyways ... here are some pictures from his party ...

Happy Birthday, Kason!

Yesterday was Kason's 2nd birthday!! I cannot believe it! The past two years have gone by way too fast!

Today, we took Kason to see his pediatrician, (who I LOVE! He was great!!).
Here's his stats:

Weight: 23 lbs (less than 5 percentile)
Length: 33 inches (between 10-25 percentile)
Head: 18.5 inches (10th percentile)

Then he got one shot and he did so awesome!! As the nurse was giving him his shot he said, "Hey! Stop!" It was pretty funny!

Here are just a few pictures from yesterday. We celebrated a little bit but, we will have his actual party this weekend sometime with our families.

Kason's Grandma & Grandpa made him a yummy Birthday Breakfast!

Kameron had to work last night until 9 so, we made cupcakes and sang him 'Happy Birthday' after lunch.

Last Thursday we took Kason for his first dentist visit.
I was so proud of how good he did!!! He climbed right into the chair and the funniest part was when they took his x-rays. He would open his mouth and bit down on the mouthpiece like it was no big deal! She said that she has had 5 year olds that won't do that!

And then the dentist came in and checked out his teeth. Kason had no problem showing off his teeth.
The dentist (Dr. Haws *I think* who actually happens to be in 5th ward here!!) said that everything looks perfect, no cavities or anything!

Kason did so good. I was really proud.
He got a new toothbrush, a balloon and a sticker.

Kason Funnies

Tonight we were helping Kason with his prayers and Kameron has been sick all day so

I told him to say, "and bless dad to feel better"

Kason says, "no! bless Ginger!"
(ginger is our beagle pup.)

I guess he had other blessings in mind!!!

*~*~*

The other day Kason and I were looking at our blog and he saw this picture:

Photobucket

He looks at me and says, "Oh! It's Papa's Chickens!!!"
(he calls his Grandma & Grandpas Papa's)

It was pretty cute!!

*~*~*

He's such a funny kid! He definately keeps us on our toes and makes us laugh everyday!!
I can't believe he's going to be 2 soon - where have the years gone?!
